Pen, Understand. Staying with you, will read anything you have to say, even if I might not always agree I can learn from you. That's what it is about, right?

Oh, and congratulations and thanks! The fascist party's agenda is to dominate every elective agency-- including and especially state and local, so we need critical thinkers--like you--to inhabit said agencies for us....

Pen, no worries here - still a loyal follower :) But I do feel better now that you have updated us.

The town next door to us holds special meanings. It's the place where a "shot was heard around the world" - where the American Revolution was symbolically launched. A few patriots died in the effort. A ton of history around here.

It's also the town where my wife raised her two fine kids - middle aged now. It was my second chance at fatherhood. I will always be grateful that they "signed off on me". Without their approval I wouldn't have gotten past the first date :)

I bring up Concord because the town has its own electric production and its own fiber optic internet service. On the odd chance that they could be helpful, here is the website:

Also, I love the direction your life seems to be taking. You are adding value to the world in multiple ways.

Kudos! I am impressed.

Thank you Pen for the work you do. My adult daughter is developmentally disabled. She is a wonderful person and one of the loves of my life. My Sara is cared for and loved by myself and the rest of her family, but I know many others don’t have the same opportunities. So thank you for caring for these vulnerable people. And congratulations on your elected position. You will serve your community well.

Congratulations, Pen. I look forward to hearing about your journey as an elected official. And no worries from here either. I support "evolving together" to help facilitate a fellow human who is trying to make a difference. I don't need or expect to receive your missives like clockwork. I'll read what you write, when you write it.

"If Chattanooga, Tennessee, can have municipal Internet at reasonable prices, so can Wilkeson, Washington! I’ve lived both places. The lesson I learned from Chattanooga’s incredible, against the odds Internet infrastructure story is that it can be repeated anywhere. Will and way. Stay tuned."

I'd rather place my trust (with verification and stringently enforced regulation) in a municipality sworn to privilege the Public Interest and access to human necessities like affordable housing, healthcare, corporate regulation with enforcement of Private Interest violations of the Public Trust than in any Pay2Play Private Interest networked investors sworn to profit-maximizing, access limiting, wealth-concentrating, privatizing, financializing and deregulating essentially feudal and non-localized investor networked corporate entity.

Why? What are the policy outcomes of the past 5 decades of Wage Stag-Nation, laissez faire rigged and cartelier controlled so-called Market Forces led economic policies and a moratorium on enforcing anti-trust\anti-competitive legislation and regulation?

'Profits over safety': Grand jury report excoriates PG&E

GREENWIRE | A scathing grand jury report released yesterday after a 2018 Northern California wildfire killed 85 people found that Pacific Gas and Electric Co. officials repeatedly ignored warnings about its failing power lines, performed inadequate inspections to focus on profits and refused to learn from past catastrophes.

PG&E exhibited "a callous disregard" for the life and property of residents before its equipment ignited the most destructive wildfire in recent U.S. history, a summary of the grand jury investigation said. Investigators concluded the primary cause of the fire was a nearly century-old suspension hook that failed, worn through after decades hanging in a windy canyon.

"Through a corporate culture of elevating profits over safety by taking shortcuts in the safe delivery of an extremely dangerous product — high-voltage electricity — PG&E certainly lead otherwise good people down an ultimately destructive path," the 92-page summary released yesterday said.

In response, the country's largest utility pleaded guilty yesterday in Butte County Superior Court to 84 felony counts of involuntary manslaughter (Energywire, June 17). The company maintains that it cherishes public safety above all else.
