Just needed to give a quick supportive response from one "rescurer" to another. "Dog people" are those that maybe have more... or too much empathy for their fellow creatures. Not sure. But your Senior Moments letter has sent me into a mix of tears and appreciation. Heart felt stuff from this fellow canine lover.

Hugs from Sophie and me.

Awe Pen... you have my deepest love and respect. I truly believe the love and care we give to our animal friends defines who we are. I have adopted many rescue dogs and cats. Ray stands out. He was abandoned as a puppy, hit by a car and spent months at the vet and shelter trying to restore use of his left hind leg. His leg never healed well enough to walk on it. I adopted him. He was one of the best friends I have ever had. Then there’s Natalie, Murphy, Molly and now my 16 cats I have rescued. If only humans were able to love so unconditionally. Please hug Hendrix for me and a hug to you as well❤️

We are so fortunate to have found him. He has been the brightest light throughout the last five years. Love that guy.

The loyalty of a truly wonderful friend is so hard to describe, let alone emulate. I'm glad you've both been blessed, but sorry the gift of each other includes suffering through this final chapter.

"Dogs make us all better." All we need do is learn how to accept their unconditional love.

I love my Jake, but could not write so expressively about it. I often wonder what I did right in another existence to deserve him.
